How large social media companies are compromising democracy

Here is my rant about how Google's of the world are compromising democracy around the world. Once you get out of US, they pretty much bend over to the whims of the local governments. Why do I say that? Here is the evidence.

As a rule, I don't subscribe to anybody on YouTube and just search and watch videos of people that I am interested in. Once I watch few videos, the recommendation algorithm starts suggesting me videos from those people.

When Rahul Gandhi did the first instalment of his Bharat Jodo Yatra back in 2023, I used to watch it pretty much everyday for probably 10-20 minutes. I always watched it on his channel.

Off late I have observed that his channel never shows up in my recommendations. Have a look at this screenshot below.

This is the set of recommended videos by YouTube algorithm to my account. You can see one video from today's yatra but that is from Bharat Jodo Yatra account, not from Rahul Gandhi account.

I can search for Rahul Gandhi's channel or his name and then I can see all the videos.

I am not sure, if this is by design or mistake, but it does look iffy to me.
