Most bizzare chain mail

I keep on getting my share of chain mails. But this one was strangest. I never understood why people after writing such strange mails want others to forward these further on.
This is one of the best explanations of why God allows pain and suffering that I have seen...
A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed.
As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation.
They talked about so many things and various subjects.
When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said:
"I don't believe that God exists.."
"Why do you say that?" asked the customer. "Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't exist.
Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people?
Would there be abandoned children?
If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain.
I can't imagine a loving God who would allow all of these things."
The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument.
The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop. Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard.
He looked dirty and unkempt. The customer turned back and entered the barber shop again and he said to the barber:
"You know what? Barbers do not exist."
"How can you say that?" asked the surprised barber.
"I am here, and I am a barber. And I just worked on you!"
"No!" the customer exclaimed. "Barbers don't exist because
if they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards, like that man outside."
"Ah, but barbers DO exist! That's what happens when people do not come to me."
"Exactly!" affirmed the customer. "That's the point! God, too, DOES exist!
That's what happens when people do not go to Him and don't look to Him for help.
That's why there's so much pain and suffering in the world." If you think God exists, send this to other people---
If you think God does not exist, delete it!
BE BLESSED & BE A BLESSING TO OTHERS

Now I don't really have an opinion on existence of god, but I did not forward it and in these times of google mails, you really don't delete a mail. Going a step further I actually blogged about it. Shouldn't I get some money!

The dumb main stream media again

See this news item. Here is what the article claims.
Gourav Bhattacharya of Mumbai knows how to bell the CAT. He - like only 10-odd other management aspirants all over India - has scored a 100 percentile in the entrance examination to the Indian Institutes of Management.

I am not an expert in calculating percentiles, but I know couple of things for sure. When scores are represented as percentiles, there would be always one person who gets the top percentile.

I am not even sure that anybody can get 100 percentile. As per the percentile rank definition from wikipedia
The percentile rank of a score is the percentage of scores in its frequency distribution which are lower. For example, a test score which is greater than 90% of the scores of people taking the test is said to be at the 90th percentile.

As per above definition, one can not get 100 percentile because that would mean that your score is greater than the score of 100% of the people taking test, that would be impossible because you are also part of 100%.

The dumb main stream media

Here is another stupid media headline. Here is what the headline says.
SACHIN SCORES ON THE FIELD, YUVI OFF ITâ??WITH DEEPIKA

This is supposed to be the largest mainstream daily for English news in India. I think we really need a new news paper.

Shelfari and Yaari social networking sites

Recently some of my friends mentioned that they got invites from me in two of these social networking sites. It sounded strange since I never sent invites to those people. Now my fears have come true. Both these sites are misusing information that one provides to these sites. See following links.
